Talent Rediscovery
Talent Rediscovery lets you find the most relevant candidates for a specific job by scanning your entire uploaded candidate database. This includes candidates uploaded for different jobs and those linked directly to the selected role, so strong profiles already in your system are never overlooked when a new role opens up.
Always run Talent Rediscovery before sourcing new candidates for a role. The right person may already be in your database.
How to Run Talent Rediscovery
There are two ways to start Talent Rediscovery for a job.
Method 1: From the Jobs List
- Navigate to 'Jobs' from the left sidebar.
- Locate the job role you want to find candidates for.
- Click the three-dots 'Actions' menu on that job row.
- Select 'Rediscover Candidates'.
Method 2: From Inside a Job
- Open the job by clicking on its title.
- Click the Rediscover Candidates icon in the top-right area of the job workspace, next to the Export and Upload icons.
Rediscover Candidates Modal
A Rediscover candidates modal will appear with options to narrow down which candidates are included in the scan before running it.
Segments lets you optionally select a candidate segment to limit the rediscovery to a specific group of candidates rather than scanning your full database.
Candidate created date controls how far back the scan looks based on when candidates were added to your database. Available options are All time, Last 6 months, Last 1 year, and Custom range if you want to define a specific date window.
Apply location filter is a checkbox, unchecked by default. Check it to restrict the scan to candidates in specific locations, then enter one or more locations in the Search Locations field that appears.
Click 'Apply' to start the scan. The button shows an 'Applying...' loading state briefly, then the modal closes and a "Performing Rediscovery" notification appears in the corner of the screen with the job title, letting you know the scan is running. You can continue working or click 'Hide' to dismiss the notification.
Once rediscovery completes, the notification turns green and a refresh button appears. Click it to load the newly rediscovered candidates into the job's candidate list.
Viewing Rediscovered Candidates
Once the scan completes and you refresh, the Rediscovered source tab in the View Candidates screen will show the total count of matched candidates and list them using the same candidate card format used everywhere else in View Candidates, tagged with a Rediscovery source label. Refer to the Candidate Card section of the Tabs and Filters guide for the full breakdown of what each card shows, including Skills evidence, Must-haves, Must-avoids, and Match score.
Filtering and Refining Results
Rediscovered candidates can be filtered and sorted using the same Filter and Sort controls available for any candidate list in View Candidates. Refer to the Filter section of the Tabs and Filters guide for the full list of available filters.
Automating Talent Rediscovery
Instead of running rediscovery manually each time, you can configure Skima AI to automatically scan your database whenever a new job is created.
Navigate to 'Settings' → 'Preferences' → 'General' and toggle on 'Automatically Rediscover Candidates When a New Job is Created'.
If this toggle is not visible in your workspace, reach out to support@skima.ai or book a demo to enable it.
